HIV concerns

i had a risky sex behavior 5 months ago....unprotected anal sex..orgasm inside the body...got a rapid test at 4 month (fingerstic blood)...came back NEGATIVE...not to mention the symptoms (since i have a lot,,,flu-like symptoms and rash that lasted for 1-2 months after exposure)....ringworms are included...still having it now...may on legs...

Now,,got some information from my nurse that,,rapid tests are screening tests and therefore not reliable for a HIGH RISK that I had...i should go have a traditional blood test...that is what he said....

other thing is,,,HIV test is conclusive only after 6 months... according to him..

I'm very worried now...and want to get a test again...Am i recommended to test again?? i'm very scared...but it's a lot of money to go to the doctor....

thanks for reading....

Don't suggest people use the blood banks for testing.

3 days won't make that much of a difference at that point. You had a conclusive negative result at 3 months. You are fine.

You need to relax. You are fine. Posting on this forum will not help your anxiety. If you cannot accept your conclusive results, then you need to get tested again FOR YOUR PEACE OF MIND. This time, make it full-on Western Blot so you have no doubts... you are wasting your money though. Anxiety and stress will damage your immune system the same way HIV & AIDS will... you need to deal with your anxiety and stress. There is a forum on MedHelp to assist with that.

@ Teak
The reason I suggested donating blood is because he has a definitive negative result and is not accepting it. By donating blood, he will be able to put this nervous energy towards a positive purpose.

I was raped on March 12th of 2009. I was tested for HIV after 3 months and again 3 days before my official 6 month mark. Both are negative. The question I have is whether or not three daays would make a large difference. I know people have asked this and then they're told conclusive after 3 months but when I call the cdc they tell me they don't know if the days would make a difference and proceed to tell me things I could otherwise google on my own. Thanks for reading this.

You never use the blood banks for personal testing. Good way to get thrown in jail.

You don't have HIV. You have a conclusive negative HIV test.
