Do I still have a risk?

Hi everyone,
This is my first time to ever write anything like this

My story started in 2016 when I graduated from highschool, I went to a party and there was some hookers”I didnt know they were” one of them wanted to have an intercourse so I did! Just to look cool.
This incident was unprotected. I never really though of any disease till after 2 weeks of what happend.
I had a high fever with elevated liver functions and fatigue.
Went to hospital with a couple of friends and the doctor asked if I had any sexaul intercourses I said yes
(This was my second time to have sex ever and my last)
He tested me for everything and ordered me to stay at the hospital for the night.
Every thing came back negative but CMV was positive.
After that he told me I was fine and I should come back for tests after 3 months.
In this period I have lost 7 kilos and lymph glands started popping off everywhere around my body.
I went for a full STD test ( blood and urine) after 3 months and everything came back negative.
After that my paranoia has started and I have tested full STD check ups for more than 4 years!!!!
In total I have more than 17 HIV tests which all came back negative fortunately.
The reason of this excessive testing is that I have never had any sex since that day being afraid I would infect other girls
I usually go for massage parlours that would end with a handjob and thats all ( I know handjob doesnt transmit and STI’s)
I’ll graduate from college in a couple of months and I truly don’t know how these years have passed with no partner or any sexual relationship.
I still have shotty nodes- 8 in neck - 3 in armpits - chronic Diarrhea- pins and needles all over my body
My last test was 3 weeks ago and everything was fine
What should I do?

I would like to respond to the last line of your issue that says "What should i do?"

From the last 17 or so negative tests that you have had, i think you should do nothing. No further tests, no more worries  and enjoy life.

Look, you have done all a reasonable man can do to be sure of their HIV status , which is commendable and cannot think of anything else that you can do than to put that behind you and try to refocus your thoughts from possible HIV infections when you have not had any real exposure.

I think you should move forward at a slow but steady pace. If 17 say negative I dont think you need #18.  Get involved in Golf or something to keep your mind occupied. You could take what you have learned and help others here so they can get pieace of mind without 17 tests. I hope and wish you well.Good Luck :-)

You don't have HIV, you have tested conclusively negative. Unless your lymph glands are diagnosed to be swollen by a doctor, it not going to be regarded as anything here on this forum because this forum has been home to umpteen individuals complaining about plethora of symptoms without a risk and also for people who have tested negative regularly however, they have issues with acceptance of them being alright.

If you do have a proper diagnosis from a doctor that your nodes are swollen, you might want to go ahead and check for lymphoma or anything else that can cause it. Perhaps your doctor would be able to guide you through, as far as HIV is coming concerned, you don't have a concern, I repeat you have tested conclusively negative.

17 HIV tests also reflects that you are probably dealing with a lot of anxiety towards a fear of disease that is nonexistent. If you somehow feel the urge for the 18th test, you would be better off seeing a therapist instead to overcome this irrational fear.

Good luck.

Whoa, 17 negative HIV tests and still worried about HIV.  From an episode in 2016.  So, you don't have HIV. You have anxiety.  Tests do not lie. It is time for you to speak to a therapist about your anxiety because it is overshadowing reason.  You want to have a normal, happy life with a woman and need to move past this.  You do not have HIV.  Remember, that an unprotected episode is very low risk at 2% for a single episode if the other person is HIV positive, zero if they aren't. So, your risk overall while there was ALWAYS relatively low.  You never got the virus and are in desperate need of letting this go.
