I done the test today. I had to use 3 fingerpricks and milk 3 holes in two fingers to get enough blood into the bottle. It took five minutes of milking to get it full.

How much blood is required in order to test? A drop? How do they test?

NHS call centre advisor informed me that it is the 4th gen duo test. Still 99% conclusive at 28 days? I am worried because it is not a normal blood test, just a finger prick of blood to post back to lab for testing.

According to US regulations, any HIV test is conclusive if taken 12 weeks after an exposure, but you can take them before that, 3rd gen will give you an excellent indicator about your status around 6 - 8 weeks after exposure and 4th gen 4 - 6 weeks after exposure. A result given in those times is very unlike to change, but only a doctor, based on your risk level and his experience could advice you to skip the confirmatory test after 12 weeks post exposure.

Am not real familiar with what is and what isn't available in the UK, but I found a link to the NHT that will hopefully offer you some information.
