HIV possibilities?

I'm a white 33 year old female who had unprotected vaginal sex with a then 34 year old male. He is from Spain but was borned and raised in the US. Not sure if he would be categorized a minority or not. We did not use a condom. He has since dated one of my 'once upon a time' close friends for 3 years afterwards. They both have claimed 'clean' to me several times. Needless to say my friendship has deteriorated. This has been eating at me for 5 years. I've had pap smears and even a LEEP procedure since this happened but have never asked for HIV testing. This has become an obsession of sorts. It's been eating me for 5 years to the point to where I have not dated at all. I know this is unhealthy and I'm ready to get it over with. I found this forum in hopes of a little light. I'm not sure I'll survive the 'testing day' until the 'results day' but I can't live this way any longer. I'm absolutely humiliated and scared to ask for the test but I'm going to do it this week. I don't know if he's a needle user or bisexual. He claims no to both but I'm finding my trust in just not there for anything anymore.

Rapid test - Anonyimous - get the result... and move one
You are a scared person with, most probably, no reason for that at all.

There is no need to delay this any longer and keep torturing yourself over what ifs. Additionally, you no longer have to get a standard lab test and then wait up to weeks for your results. They have rapid tests that give results in 20 minutes and they are just as reliable as a standard ELISA test. Go ask for one. There is nothing humiliating about it whatsoever. You are taking responsibility for your health. Good luck!
