Am i infected?

Hello, doctor! I have a question for you and pleeeeaaase answer me because i'm verry stressed about this. I recived oral sex from a sex worker four weeks ago and i am very worried about catching hiv. I read that this is a low risk activity, but not a no risk activity. Today i read that many years ago, a 60 years old men got hiv form a prostitute after being the insertive partener in oral sex. This was his only risk activity for many years... And now i'm very scared. If everybody says there are no documented cases, what do you say about this one? Please give me an answer!

"The three month antibody test is the gold standard for testing."

Wrong. The gold standard is now a duo test (antibody + antigen) any time 4 weeks or more after exposure. Scan this forum for innumerable discussions of it in the past several weeks.

Hi Shady, I've read your post on Poz just now. They seem so sure on there oral sex is no risk for HIV and give the research to back their answer up. I'm like you, my anxiety is sky high. I don't know what to think -  low risk/no risk.   The three month antibody test is the gold standard for testing. I'm going for two negs on that to be sure.

Hi, we can attach numerous threads from doctors that its is no risk but i feel due to that one story you would not be convinced so i feel since your anxiety level is through the roof that you have the Duo test at 28 days to fully address your concern.
