HIV risk of infection with a broken condom

Hello Doc. I am a 26yr old male, 19 days ago i had a protected sex with a commercial sex worker, while we were having sex the condom broke and i immediately withdraw my penis out and replace the broken condom with a new condom. 48hrs after the sex i experienced a painfull reddish rash around my armpit which i treated with an antibiotic and disapear completely after 24hrs....15 days after the incident the whole of my body started itching with no sign of rash. On the 19th day i started noticing tiny rash around my abdomen and pubic region mostly around hair follicle which are kind of degenerating after 12hrs of apearance. I have no sign of any flu like symptoms nor am i having rash around my chest or face region dor my body still itches...i want to know the risk of me being infected with this virus

While your actual risk is probably low, the bottom line is that you had unprotected insertive vaginal sex and I recommend testing.

Have a 4th generation DUO test at 28 days post this exposure and a confirmatory test at 12 weeks for a 100% conclusive result.

Sorry, but a low risk does NOT mean NO risk.
