HIV risks?

Hopefully this is my last question for a while, this is another question for a friend again, this time a gay friend. He wants to know if he can HIV like this; he and his boyfriend share a custom made dildo that has a hole at the top where they can insert a tube of lube and quiz the whole contraption and make lube ooze out. He wants to know if he can HIV from sharing the toy and not properly sterilizing the toys after each use. He says sometimes he cleans it off, sometimes he wipes it down with just a napkin. He always stores it wrapped up in something or covered up and hidden (from his parents). He wants to know can HIV survive long enough like this. And he says he uses the toy nearly everyday. So he wants to know if he boyfriend had HIV and some of his fluids got into or onto the toy and he just simply wipes it with a napkin and then rolls it in a towel and hides it, then uses it 2-18 hours later, can the HIV survive since it's not really exposed to air
