HIV symptoms

What are the symptoms of HIV?  Would they occur a week and a half after a heterosexual incident?

No because there are no stats that will tell you anything like that. The Dr's use something like 1 in 1000 but no specific time frame put on that.

Vance,

do you know what the statistics are for a heterosexual male having 2-3 minutes of unprotected vaginal sex with a female,  contracting HIV?

Not really. 6-8 weeks since exposure is a good indication and 3 months is conclusive. 25 days is probably in the 80% range, maybe 90% at best.

I am scheduled to get a test a week and a half from now.  That would have been close to 25 days since the incident.  Will this test be at least somewhat reliable?

there are no hiv specific symptoms.  the same symptoms of early infection are those of numerous, common, everyday illnesses.

the only way to know one's status is by testing.
