HIV test at 6 weeks

I was tested for HIV and hepatitis C, 6 weeks after I pricked my finger starting an IV, it was actually 44 days after the incident. It was an antibody test that was done at labcorp. The patient tested negative at the time I was stuck. How reliable is a 6 week test? I'm confused about some things. My husband developed a sore throat that lasted 3 days and had fever for one day and also had a sore neck. Is this a symptom of ARS. I was told that if I had transmitted HIV to him, I would have tested positive. Is that true? There isn't anyone else I can ask these questions.

And when I called the PEPline to ask about my 6 week test, I was told it depended on the type of test? And that I needed to retest at 4 months? This is so confusing because the patient was HIV negative.

I am listening,  I am just confused. I thought you could transmit HIV to someone even if you tested negative because you may be in the window period. I just want clarification on that. And I know you may not want to answer any of my questions. But I'm asking you as a mother to help, because I do not want to hurt my baby and I don't want to hurt my husband. Why is that so hard to empathize with or understand? I
