HIV test

Hi Dr., I had an unprotected sex with a women (sex worker) unknown her HIV status, after a week i got a sore throt. i became worried and started my tests, i have got tested after 21 days (HIV ag/ab, P24 Combo), 28 days(HIV ag/ab, P24 Combo) and(HIV RNA Quanitative), 35days(HIV ag/ab, P24 Combo) and after 42 days(HIV ag/ab, P24 Combo) all results were negative. my question is should i consider all these testes conclusive or i have to wait 3 and 6 months to be tested again.

  In an adult, a positive HIV antibody test result means that the person is infected, a person with a negative or inconclusive result may be in the “window for 4 to 6 weeks but occasionally up to 3 months after HIV exposure. Persons at high risk who initially test negative should be retested 3 months after exposure to confirm results

have you seen any case tested Abott ag/ab Combo negative at 6 weeks changed to positive after 3 months.

Just obtain your conclusive test results and start using condoms.

Thanks, appreciate your sharp decision on 3 months antibodied test. but i'm asking should i keep worring about infection ornot and just i can consider 3 months test only as official negative.

Hi Teak, Really worring is killing me. please reply on my questions:
1- after my above negative testes, could i have HIV symptoms after 8 weeks.
2- my tongue is like i take a very hot drink this for 4 days till now.
3- Under the armpit painfull vey much from time to time this is from 5 weeks ago. no swelling.
4- my throat is always dry, i have pain from time to time this is from 4 weeks.
5- rashes, i got one or tow appears and go for 2 days. another one or 2 in other places comes and go for 2 or 3 days.

could these be HIV symptoms?

Enough with the symptoms because only a conclusive test is what counts.A 6 weeks negative DUO tests is excellent,collect your conclusive result at 3 months.

have you seen a negative RNA Quanitative + DUO test after 4 weeks changed to positive after 3 months? yes or no.

3 months means 12 weeks or 90 days?

No,never,it doesn't happen,those 2 tests are the best HIV tests in the world.

Excellent result but have 1 final test at 12 weeks.

You don't need a combo at 12 weeks,just have a standard antibody test.

I got my 12 weeks negative normal HIV antibody test. can i proceed without anixty with my wife without condom.
my tests are:
3,4,5,6,9, weeks HIV combo test.
12 weeks HIV antibody test.
4 weeks RNA Quanitative.
all are negative please advice.
