Thanks for the replies. So I'm guessing it would have to be gaping open wounds for any chance Coverd in blood?my friends do like to freak me out as it was them that told me I was at risk
As the above poster has stated, you can NOT contract HIV from such casual contact as "fist bumping" even if you both happen to have paper cuts!
Below I have listed the THREE ways in which HIV can be spread. Please don't read this list and begin asking "but what if............" There are no "what if's!"
1) UNPROTECTED (NO CONDOM) INSERTIVE ANAL/VAGINAL SEX WITH AN HIV+ PARTNER
2) SHARING DRUG WORKS (NEEDLES) WITH AN HIV+ PERSON
3) HIV+ MOTHER TO HER UNBORN CHILD
The list of how you CAN'T contract HIV would take pages and pages to list. That list WOULD include "fish bumping" with paper cuts!
You were at absolutely NO RISK.
Since you've stated you don't like shaking hands because of germs, it's possible your "germ phobia" is deeper than you think and you may want to consider some short term therapy to understand why you have this and learn ways to deal with it. I would also recommend you educate yourself on HIV so you can relax about casual contact. You will learn that HIV is actually very difficult to contract unless you break the three hard and fast rules I wrote above. Knowledge is power and I think you'd be far less tense if you gained that knowledge. Good luck
hiv is not tranmitted through these every day casual contacts. thankfully! so no way you can get hiv this way!
