Your question was answered. Your username, and the info you posted led me to post what I did, and I stand by it. If it's not relevant, great. Good luck to you.
Or it just came to mind 3 years after the fact. Just because someone posts a question one time doesn't mean they need to seek counseling. I thought that's what this forum was for. To ask questions and attain information from those that have knowledge of the subject being addressed.
The fact that you're worrying about this 3 years later indicates an anxiety issue. You may want to seek some help for that.
Thank you sir, your comment does put things into perspective! Thank you for your time and insight.
"Every site I read says that while it would be a minute chance, that a chance does indeed exist." - This is because doctors, and scientist don't like to say never. As we all know anything is possible. Hell, people win the lottery and get struck by lightening. Lets talk about odds.
Odds of getting hit by lightening in your lifetime: 1 in 126,158
Odds of dying in a plane crash: 1 in 7229
Odds of dying by heart disease 1 in 7
Odds of dying in a car accident 1 in 108
For a one time, unprotected VAGINAL encounter with a female of unknown status, your odds of acquiring HIV is 1 in a 1,000,000...that's a MILLION.
Considering that oral sex is much less likely to result in HIV, if at all, your odds are much better than 1 in a million that you are NOT infected with HIV.
Still feeling anxious? If so get tested at 4 weeks with a DUO for conclusive peace of mind results. And, if that doesn't help. Look up a therapist to help you work past your issue.
There are over a dozen enzymes and proteins in saliva that inhibit the HIV virus.
Thank you for your quick response. Not to call your answer into question but is there a scientific reason as to why blood in the mouth doesn't transmit HIV? Especially with gingivitis, I would think this would be a direct entry point into the blood stream? Thank you again for your insight.
No one ever ever catches HIV at his way, it is simoly not possible.
No need to test unless you have had unprotected anal or vaginal sex or shared needles.
