Having Trouble - Need help

Dr.

I hope that you're well.  I'm at a loss and overly concerned.  I've posted on here two weeks back and listened to your advice, but don't know what to do.  I've had a chronic sore throat and swollen tongue for 4 weeks now and it won't go away.  I've been tested by a Dr. and no bacteria.  I've had STD tests for herpes, gonnorhea, syphillus, Chlymidia.  Not tested for HIV.

On Sept 3rd I performed oral on another male TV escort.  That was it.  No ejaculation.  I'm ashamed by it somewhat as I'm married, but I don't believe this is anxiety.  We kissed as well.  That was it.  I've never had anal sex or unprotected vaginal sex with anyone besides my wife.

I also have ulceraitve colitis since I was 25, and I'm 40 now.  I am scared that I've contracted HIV and that I'm going to die and ruin the lives of my wife and children.  This sore throat and tongue bumps will not go away.  I have not had a fever, night sweats, swollen lymph nodes, etc.  Work out 4 days per week and still strong and no weight loss.  Yes, for the first time in my life, this sore throat won't go away...it's driving me crazy.  My tongue is white with red patches and I have painful bumps on the top of my tongue in the middle.

What is going on here?  Please help.

Thank you.

HPV can occasionally be acquired through oral sex but it is not very common and when it occurs it is not symptomatic.  this is nost unlikely to be HPV.  EWH

Thanks Dr.  I feel better now.  I have one more question on this topic.  I've been tested for Gonorrhea, Syphillus, Herpes.  However, not HPV.  Is it possible that my sore throat is related to warts in my mouth from oral? There are no other warts on my body including my penis and we did have full body contact.  I have no canker sores on my mouth, lips or gums, but I do have a sore throat that won't go away.  Is it possible to catch HPV this way?

I've read your other posts since we exchanged messages as well.  You are having a difficult time believing that you did not get something from the encounter you described despite the fact there is no evidence that this is the case.  Your anxiety is getting the best of you.  You could ask a dentist of ENT specialist but that is really just looking for more confirmation- I somehow doub that that will be sufficient either. What is going on is NOT HIV.  You need to figure out how to deal with your guilt and anxiety.  Perhaps seeing a counselor will help.  EWH
