Heterosexual Transmission

Not a question

As an infected female I found out about my positive status while pregnant my son was born negative and I had been positive for two years my husband was not infected during this time so yes evidence does suggest that the prevalence of transmission from female to male is extremely low if not non-esixtant especially if the woman is on effective HAART treatment with an undetectable viral load and no other active STD/STI infections.

Even if you are serum nondetectable has nothing to do with your semen or vaginal fluids being undetectable nor does is indicate that it is safe to have unprotected sex. .

Hi there -

It looks as if you attempted to add your experience to a thread in our Expert forum. Those threads are closed after a certain period of time, and it will land in our HIV Prevention Community. We appreciate you sharing your story, though. :)

For other members, you can tell that a member has posted in an expert forum because of the sentence "This discussion is related to..." with the title of the the thread that the member tried to post to. If you click on the title, it will take you to the original thread in the expert forum.

It may seem unrelated to the community it lands in, but that's okay. We appreciate all members who take the time to try and help. We are a support and information site, after all.

Thanks again,

Emily
