Hello Doctor,
First would like to thank you, for Making up a site like this. I had gay sex exactly before 24 days, had anal sex only once for about 5 mins, and after a couple of weeks i got Fever and it lasted for about 4 days and went away as i took antibiotics, but after that i felt a Bump like thing under my left arm, (i suspected that it was a Lymph node) but it went off the next day. and after few days again i felt feverish, but the last week, i felt bi feverish, but it went off even without taking medicine, and before a couple of days i felt a bump like thing under my right arm, (i suspected that it was a Lymph node) but it went off the next day, its was  painless and it wasn't big. Can i be HIV infected,could it be Symtoms of HIV or could this lead to some other infection, and couls i under go an HIV test this early?? (its been 24 days after the sexual Contact).

Zedicus are u in Sri lanka, Evn im in Sri lanka.. and i need more information and advice about my sickness, can it be some other sickness,, and even im freaking out to consult doctor, please advice me on that matter. thank you..

when was his last encounter.. if he tested 12 weeks after his last encounter.. then he is definitely negative for hiv and thus u will also be negative.. dont try to diagnose hiv by symptoms.. its a waste of time.. the symptoms can be caused by various other illnesses..

My partner got tested earlier and he was Negative, but because of these symptoms im really worried and freaking out..

well anal sex carries a higher risk but whether you got hiv totally depends on whether your partner has hiv and if does then depends basically on your luck.. if you can.. then get your partner tested... if not... then get yourself tested at 12 weeks.. that will give you a conclusive result..

Im really worries about this, so can some one please explain, why do i get all the above mentioned symptoms, and is there any possibility of them being Hiv possitive??

yea it was unprotected, but it was for a very short time, so am i infected..

at 8 weeks you can get tested which will give a rough idea about ur hiv status but it wont be conclusive.. tho it will give u a peace of mind.. at 12 weeks testing it will be conclusive

Did you have unprotected anal sex?

was the sexual act protected or not?.. if it wasnt then anal sex carries a higher risk than usual.. its best to get tested at 12 weeks for CONCLUSIVE result!..

if it was protected sex.. then there is no risk
