Thanks Dr, but one more last question please. What if there was an infected breast milk at the tip or opening of the sachet,not necessarily inside or mixed with the water. Could that still pose any risk? Thanks

Dr I just needed a clarification about having absorbed some breast milk into my broken lips if there were to be an hiv infected breast milk on the sachet water which I already had in my mouth through my broken lips or slight cut in my tongue,knowing fully well that the baby just sucked the mother's breast milk not more than few seconds before i carried him.Please Dr kindly throw a little explanation to help my worries. Thanks

Dr please kindly access this hiv risk: A little baby sucked the breast of his mother and very shortly I carried the child.while I was carrying the baby,I was drinking a sachet water and the baby reacted like he wanted to drink from the same sachet water I was holding and immediately I put the sachet water into the baby's mouth and the baby left some saliver on the sachet water which I drank. All these happened withing seconds to minutes after the baby sucked the breast milk of his mother. Now here's my question! If the mother of the child is infected with hiv and the baby sucks her breast milk and while the baby sips from my sachet water which possibly could have some breast milk in his mouth and I now put this same sachet water in my mouth where I have some blisters on my lips,could I have been at risk of hiv?

HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.

HIV is transmitted by;
Unprotected penetrative anal and/or vaginal sex
Sharing works with other IV drug users
Mother to child

Dr. What if she has a slightly bleeding palm which was not obvious and uses the same palm to rub over my hand skin from my elbow down and with the hot/pepperish feelin I had for some minutes on my hand after she rubbed my hand skin down also with the red pimples on my hand that she rubbed. Could I still be at risk from this explanation? Thanks Dr.
