Home Access Test

Hello,

I recently tested myself using the HOme ACcess HIV-1 rapid test. I did everything correctly, and mailed the sample in on time. The result came back negative. Can I trust this? How common is HIV-2? If i tested clean for HIV 1 what is the likelihood I have HIV2 and just dont know it. ANy help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You never had a risk of contracting HIV from having protected sex. You also stated you had oral sex which is not a risk of HIV transmission.

You can rely on the result. Home Access tests are reliable.

You should be only concerned about HIV 2, if you are in Africa or in the Indian Sub continent.

However, if HIV2 still concerns you, it's worth taking a regular antibody test at testing lab.

Hope that helps.
