How Long Before Presenting Symptoms

My wife and I have been exclusive for eight years.  I'm starting to have symptoms indicative of HIV (along with many other viruses).  Is it possible that I could be asymptomatic and then begin to show symptoms eight years later?

The blood bank wouldn't tell you that you tested postive they would say your unit was rejected and to see your doctor. As for insurance companies they would tell you if you were going to be tested for HIV.

My wife reminded me that I've gotten two substantial life insurance policies and donated blood since we met.

Wouldn't the blood bank and insurance company test for HIV and notify me if they found anything?

Not unless you progessed to AIDS and it's symptoms of an OI. Test and learn your status.

Yes, symptoms may not show up for 10 years or longer. If you have some concern over an exposure more than 8 years ago then get tested.
