How does a rapid test work

Hi,

How does a rapid test work I read that the P24 antigen is present in blood collection point and the enzyme is added for it to react to the marker. Is it possible to contract HIV during such a test or is it a harmless protein, since HIV cannot exist outside the body right?

Thanks and regards.

You cannot contract HIV from sticking your finger in a well on a rapid test. You never had an exposure.

I actually had worse symptoms since my finger was dipped into the collection point. In the last three weeks I've developed pimples on my face, 2wks persistent rash on upper-back, worsening folliculitis, a swollen lymph node under my left arm, ulcers in the roof of my mouth, skin flaking on rims of my hands, as well as dandruff (unusual as I'm using Head & Shoulders). Is it possible to develop ARS symptoms because of a rapid test?I hoped to give this a rest, but the last 6 weeks was worse than the first three months, is it possible I'm reacting to the test as if exposed to a vaccine, and this will pass OR are all tests totally benign? I have an appointment with a dermatologist in 3 wks to attend to the skin problems; I'm scared of retesting for HIV - is it necessary?
