How to tell if you have oral thrush

I am scared I have HIV and while checking for symptoms I noticed white things inside my lower and upper lip and I thought it was just dry dead skin peeling off maybe from teeth rubbing on it or biting or chewing it or burnt by food or drink but now I'm scared when I saw thrush was a symptom of HIV I googled pictures and saw its white things in the mouth and it says it's a fungus but I thought mine was just skin from the inside of my mouth so now I can't tell if it's just skin peeling or fungus
How can you tell them apart?

And by the way Oral Thrush is in no way related to recently acquired HIV. Thrush happens during late stages of untreated HIV.

You ignored it.
