I took the in-home oraquick rapid test at 5 weeks

I had unprotected sex with a guy friend almost 8 or maybe nine months ago. He gave me trichomonas. I then decided to have a full std screen. The gynecologist did a full work std panel for other STI and infections. However, she did not conduct a blood test for HIV, Syphilis, and Herpes. She told me that my risk for those is minimal but suggested that I should test. I went to the store and purchased an OraQuick test, and it was negative at five weeks and a half.

I was feeling confident with my results until I stumbled upon this story about a woman contracting HIV from her boyfriend and a guy contracting it from his girlfriend. The guy stated that he took the HIV test 3 TIMES and on the 3rd time it came back positive. He contracted HIV 3 years ago so why did his test change? The tests today are up to date and would have given him the correct answer a few weeks after his infection.

I am started to doubt my test! Should I test again with a blood test or an oral swab test?
Should I be worried?

My suggestion is to do your best to move on from this.  I get that you are anxious but your test was routine for what you were told was really a minimal risk.  The guy who is a friend of yours doesn't have hiv.  Seriously, think about it.  He'd have had to be HIV+  to give it to you and that is really unlikely.  And the virus is not as easy to transmit as many think.   So, your doctor said that there isn't really a NEED to test but since you are anxious, you can do a test like most sexually active adults do.  And you did the test and it was negative.  You need to stop reading internet stories. They are mostly untrue and not proven and just ramp up already anxious people into having more needless anxiety. You don't have HIV

I figured maybe I would be considered a high risk group because I caught trich. When I told him he passed me trich he went to get a full panel and was negative for everything but trich
