Is my test conclusive already?

Hi

I've done the 4th Generation Test (CMIA) at 3 months (actually 88 days) post possible exposure, the result is negative.

Is my test is conclusive, the consultant at the clinic told me that it is conclusive at 1 month post exposure, but I feel some worries since CDC and guideline in my country still told 3 months is conclusive. So,I have to follow the guideline.

It is a madness that I waste a quarter of the year about this.

Is my test is conclusive 100%. Right now, I feel so relieve and think to move on.

Thanks

Hi

I just got the NAT test result also, which is Negative. The test take same date and same sampling of full blood drawn as my Anti HIV 4th Gen test.

Were you on PEP post exposure? If yes, then should we consider 4th generation test after 28 days post completion of PEP or post exposure?

No he wasn't otherwise he would have another window period added on from when he stopped taking PEP.
Hi Dave878

No, I didnt take PEP for this exposure. Before this, I never knew PEP before since Im dont think I will encount with possible exposure.
Hi AnxiousNoMore

Since Im not taking PEP. So, my testing above is completely conclusive? Am I correctly understand?

Thanks zell_lin

Just to gain more confidence from worldwide opinion.

One thing just to tell the others who still worried. After I have pass the test at one month post exposure, I have diarrhea for a week and that drive me crazy.

During that time some itchy rash has occur too.
Then after waiting till 3 months mark, 2days before testing I have severe sore throat. But after testing the result is negative.

Finally, I would say that the test is conclusive from28 days onward and the result will not be changed if no further exposure. Symptom cannot tell anything. Just belive in test result only.

Thanks

For the 4th gen hiv test, the window period is 28 days,so to say your test is conclusive no need to test further.
