Kissing .. help please

Hi guyz please enlighten me on transmission from kissing. It happened that me and a woman (unknown status) deep kissed each other and it involved mnouth to mouth cold drink transfer. Assuming she is HIV positive.. what is my risk and can hiv be transmitted in this way.

The overwhelming evidence points to the fact that kissing, including French kissing, is in no way a risk for transmitting HIV.

QUESTION
This is weird but recently I was making out with a guy and tasted blood. Somehow I must have cut his lip. I didn't have any cuts in my mouth that I know of, and hadn't brushed my teeth for awhile. How worried should I be about HIV transmission?

ANSWER
The short answer is not at all. There are many biological reasons why transmission through deep kissing, even when tasting blood, is very, very low. Other STDs like gonorrhea, herpes and syphilis have been transmitted this way, although rarely, so get an STD check up if you haven't recently.

To your health,
Dr. K

no risk...only one reported case ever involving kissing (in 20+ years of studying the virus) and both people had severe damage and blood in their mouths. Once again, no risk.
