Even though I have never had unprotected sex. I understand the no risk. Almost four years ago being the first time for me to have sex. I'm very freaked out by fat loss in my buttocks, face, legs- specially around the knee areas. Not as severe as the picture that I have seen. but I know for sure that I have fat loss in those specific areas--while no over all weight loss. Is it possible to develop lipoatrophy without being on medication? Dr. Gallant has said no. but many archives websites and dr.s have said that lipoatrophy can happen even if your not on medication. This is real symptom that doesn't come and go--I get to see everyday. If anyone has any information--I would appreciate it. Thank You!

How come everything that you pull up online about specific fat loss. All that comes up is lipoatrophy hiv. lipoatrophy hiv. Anyone have any information. Can you get lipoatrophy without being on medication? Not wasting--but lipoatrophy!

see your doctor if you are having health concerns...its not hiv related and no one on here can diagnose your symptoms over the internet.

the first time I had sex. It was a brazillian girl with unknown status. During sex the condom had gone down- covering have the penis. She had been dry and I had developed abrasions-grazes on the parts not covered by the condom. There was no blood present at all. This lipoatrophy thing is freaking me out. Are their any othre illnesses that cause lipoatrophy? It's just scary--I have never had unprotected sex other than this incident. thanks

why are you even questioning this?  doesnt make sense.

you stated above that you have never had unprotected sex.  soooooo...unless you have shared needles with someone who is infected...you dont have a hiv concern.
