My chances of having contracted HIV.

Hi,

27 year old male. Had a drunk night in Bangkok last week. Completely unsure if a worker and me had vaginal sex. Had no condoms on me. It's been a total blur out. Woke up the next day feeling nauseous. Thought it was due to being hungover and ignored it(although it was at the back of my head). Day 2 had a headache. Day 3 went to a clinic specialising in such cases to see if I can get a HIV pep. Doctor said no need for that as chances are really low especially since it was insertive. Continued with nausea and headache. Day 5 had a mild fever. Then on it's been a sickly feeling till day 8 now with off and on fever/nausea. Could it u be contracted HIV or possibly something else. Have no other symptoms as of now. What are my chances ?

Thank you

Had my regular GP look at me, said I had swollen tonsils. She always said my tonsils were abnormal. So prescribed me antibiotics. Am on day 8 of potential exposure. Should I be fearing the worst or is it too early to have symptoms and all my symptoms possibly related to my tonsil infection ?

Your symptoms prove nothing. If it is a cold, it could be from anyone, but no one can diagnose you from here.

You can take a 4th gen HIV test after 28 days if you are worried that you had unprotected sex, but being that drunk seems like you didn't.

Ok noted. I was just worried if symptoms could start that early. Causing me to worry even more. And it does not seem like a flu or cold either so it could just be some other niggling infection I suppose. Thank you for the reply.
