Testosterone injections or gel will not have an effect on your results.
It is an injectable IM drug
Is testosterone enanthate immunosuppressive and will it effect my result?
No idea. As you don't live in France, you must test 3 months post exposure to exclude infection.
what is the detection limit of ECLIA 4th generation? is it 50 pg/ml or less?
Can testoviron(testosterone steroids) effect HIV test?
Ok, thanks. Didn't see that.
To the OP your 36 days negative is encouraging, female to male transmission is lowe than the other way around. I would expect you to continue to test negative BUT you must test again at 12 weeks.
Maybe I am missing it but I can't see that you have actually told us what your risk was? It couldf be that you are worrying over nothing?
He doesn't live in France and this a US website and we go by the US guidelines.
He lives in Pakistan. You can easily check that info by hovering over the username of the member (if he/she completed their profile).
OP, your negative is very reassuring. Simply follow up with another test at 3 months for your conclusive result. It will most likely be negative.
4th generation tests at 4 weeks are very accurate, but to officially exclude an infection you need to test at the 3 months mark.
That being said, if you live in France, a 4th generation test with a detection limit of 50 pg/ml or less performed at least 6 weeks of the known exposure is considerate definitive to exclude an HIV infection.

However, if you live in the US or somewhere else, you must test at 3 months to be certain.
You will be fine!
There are no tests marketed or sold to give a conclusive negative test earlier than 3 months post exposure.
I work out and everything and since I have a strong immune system, what are the odds of it going positive? :(
but they say 4th generation tests have 99% accuracy after 4 weeks :(
In this case you need to be tested 12 or 13 weeks after your exposure.
However, with your 5 weeks and 3 days negative and the fact you're circumcised, all the odds ARE IN YOUR FAVOR for your negative test at the proper time.
My risk was unprotected vaginal sex but I am also circumcised
You're not saying what was your risk.
In the USA and most countries the guidelines recommend to test 12 or 13 weeks after a known risk for a definitive result. However, anyone with a negative result at 6 weeks should be calm that he/she is not infected, as by this point almost everyone will have detectable antibodies. 5 weeks and 3 days is an excellent result, but you should do a follow up test at 12/13 weeks if you have a known exposure.
Actually the test was ECLIA and not ELISA. Do they have a difference in accuracy?
well my test was carried out at 5 weeks and 3 days
That'd the thing even a 2nd or 3rd gen test is accurate enough to give you a goofs indication at 6 weeks , honestly you should breathe a lot easier if you have a 6 week negative , it is unlikely to change at 12 weeks ...
But how is it that they say it is conclusive at 6 weeks if you use the 4th gen elisa?
Pity they don't have a like button , I like Joggens response .
Your test result was negative and is a very good indication that you don't have HIV. However, testing guidelines recommend that 4th generation tests be followed up with an antibody test at 3 months for confirmation.
Your test result is much more meaningful than any symptoms that you have, so focus on that. Symptoms have little diagnostic value for determining whether someone is infected, and your symptoms are not consistent with acute HIV infection anyway.
