Non-Insertive Fingering over underwear

Hello there,

I have a question about a potential HIV exposure.

I'm a gay man who uses condoms consistently every time I have anal and/or vaginal sex. Even that, I also get tested every 6 months, with a 4th Gen DUO test for HIV.

1 month ago, I engaged in a sexual activity that caused me to think about any potential exposure of HIV. My partner was a gay man who has unknown HIV-status (stating that he had tested negative 4 months ago), and I touched is tip of rectum with my finger over a layer of cotton, while he was wearing his underwear. My finger did not get inside of the anus, and he was wearing a layer of clothing. I actually DID felt the wetness, but I'm not quite sure whether it was the "rectal fluid that is somehow located outside of rectum" or just sweat. Some time later, I realized that at that finger, the place that connects my nail to my finger was bleeding and I was not quite sure if it happened before the incident or later -as I have dry skin and this occurs a lot.

So I got two questions:

1. Is rectal fluid -or any bodily fluid that contains HIV virus- found at the outside tip of rectum and the area around, or was it just sweat?

2. If so, does HIV transmit via a non-insertive -aka non-penetrative- fingering with a wound on my finger, while he was wearing his underwear?

Thanks in advance!

HIV is NEVER transmitted via a finger.  The only sexual exposure for HIV is when a penis is inside a vagina or anus, unprotected.  You can safely disregard any other events that may come to mind, as no other activity is a risk for HIV.

Thanks CurfewX!

What about my other question? Do you scientifically know whether it was the rectal fluid or just sweat that my finger was get into contact with on the tip of the rectum over the boxer shorts?
No, and that question is irrelevant in the context of HIV, which is the subject of this forum.  It makes no difference what your finger came into contact with.  You cannot get HIV through your finger, no matter what.
