Non Sexual Exposure - PLEASE HELP

Hi there,
I really need your help... actually I want to talk about non-sexual exposure...

Yesterday I got scratched by something that I don’t know, on my fore hand. I am thinking that some1 might have done it purposely with some needle. But I am not sure, and the main thing worrying me is that I am unaware from where I got scratched.

It is a superficial scratch, but today I can see dried blood on that scratch...

I am in this HIV fear from last 1 year... n I got frustrated.... I can’t work n sleep properly... I’ll really appreciate if you can help me to get out of this fear... this scratching incident was 1st happened in Oct2007 n then I got tested negative after 6 week, and now again I got scratch on my hand, my cycle is reset again…

I AM REALLY REALLY IN NEED OF HELP… PLEASE HELP!

I am really disturbed with this fear. I think if it would be a needle or any other sharp thing and if someone is poking me with needle at least I should know, and I would at least react on the spot, and I really don’t remember that something was poking me. And this is the thing which is worrying me,

The scratch is very thin, looks like it is from a sewing needle, but you think that tip of that needle can contain enough blood? Just thinking…

Any help will be appreciated....

Thanks friends,

Also, you have to consider, where did the person get the HIV to put on or in a needle or syringe? No risk here.

First, I don't think anyone would purpously do this in the first place, but even if they did, your estimated risk of infection from a needle stick (and this is if it were a syringe with known HIV blood in it)  would be around 1/300 (still way in your favor). This turns out to be about a 0.33% chance of acquiring HIV (not even a half of a percent). This being said, I know (even over the internet) that this did not happen because you would have known it and reacted right away. Don't let your mind play these games...they can get pretty crazy. I get cuts all the time and have no idea where they came from, it just happens. Just focus on other things and live your life...appreciate every day...I believe you are fine, trust me...no worries.

Thank a billion man!
So you mean to say if it is a superficial scratch there is no chance (ZERO Risk) of getting HIV?

And yes, it might be anything, but I am guessing worse case. That someone might have done with needle. And frankly speaking I don’t have any enemy in office.

If you guys can give me answer, I’ll not worry if these types of things happen in future, n will not bother you..

So my friends, any help on this will really really help me, please ANSWER

Thanks again,

because if a person, of your state, worried every time they got a cut on their hand, this world would be nuts. thank goodness their is only a couple of people out there like this, and so haapens he knows how to type and setup a user name.

here is the real reason. it is superficial, not open/deep/gaping. and it wasn't (I will bet on) exposed to anything HIV infected. it could have been a cabinet, brushing against something, hell anything.

do you play sports?

would myou worry if somebody went for the ball and accidently cut you with his nail?

if so! you need help!
