Not Good

Hi Doc.

Unfortunately its me again. I know I have only two posts so I will be to the point. I got myself in an anal sex situation which I never do. I got involved with another man who I met. He is married and older like me and obviously Bi. We talked and he seemed responsible and said he was "safe" and very selective.

Now for the details. As he was performing oral on me his penis has close to my anus. I was not comfortable with that so I put a condom on it before it came close to my anus. Well he put it in and after just a few minutes of very mild sex the condom broke. No lube what a nut I am. I stopped it right away and told him that was dumb. He did NOT ejaculate and the head of his penis was covered . I saved the condom to check where it broke. As I put water in it it was fine on the end but had a small hole about 2" above the end not including the reservoir. I know he had no precum and did not ejaculate. He did state that was the first time for him to do anal.I should add I had NO trauma to my anus in this event .
I know I need to test. I will at 4 weeks but what 's your thoughts and risk assessment?

Much Thanks

Got my test back NEG but that does not cover the last risk.
It does cover many oral sex acts though for the last year.
I will test again in 3 more weeks for the condom failure.
I wish I could brake this sex habit.

Yikes!!
I guess one gets carried away when it comes to their perceived survival. I'll let you know how my test come out but I still don't get your not understanding a balloon holding water.
Have a good one Mr Teak. Do you still teach this stuff at clinics etc?

If after 80 posts you don't understand then I guess any further discussion would be fruitless.

sorry I don't understand. Its basically a balloon and I was just seeing where the leak was. It was obvious it was a hole in the side. No water escaping any were around were the head would be.
BTW as I stated there was no ejaculation.
Not trying to be difficult here I guess I don't understand your point.

You don't test condoms with water after use. Water coming from a facet has way more pressure than you ejaculating.

Teak I took the condom off and put water in it. It held water and at least 2+ inches from the end. It was leaking out of a fairly well defined hole on the side. I think I got lucky. believe me I checked that condom more than once.
thanks

When condoms fail they fail catastrophically they don't get little holes.

One other thing. You are knowledgeable would you also agree with the DR this would be a low risk event?

true enough. The only thing is I know the condom did not fail at the end or tip. A small hole above the head and the sex was brief and not rough. So for my peace of mind I am believing this was basically protected non ejaculation event. The test will tell if I am right.

I know with a failed condom it might be a stretch to say protected but if the head was covered,no ejaculation and no noticeable precum I hope I got lucky.

What a persons appearance looks like or social status will never give you any idea of their status. HIV does not discriminate.

Well as I said I know the head was covered and he had no precum as others do so lets hope no fluids were present. Thanks

I am trying to find a duo site  to test in another 3.5 weeks. I hope I dogged a bullet on this one. Thankfully he was a classy guy so I think he was up front about his activities.

He is probably sweating it to but I don't know how to get hold of him.

Ejaculation isnt a pre-requisite for HIV infection - HIV transmission can occur without it, and does.

I would recommend that you take just one test at the 12 week mark - your doctor will still advise that you go back at 12 weeks even if you decide to test early - so I would just take the one.  I understand that it is not an easy time - but your risk is very low so just try to put things into perspective

Just one other thing he did not ejaculate that has to be important.

Thanks for the reply. The condom had a small hole in it above the head. I am sure the head was covered.  As far as the test I will take one at 4 weeks and again at 6 or 8 that would be good enough for me. Thanks again

You have to pay for the Doctor's advice - I will give you mine for free.

If the tip of his penis was covered, then there is no risk here.  However you mentioned that on closer inspection you saw that the end of the condom had indeed failed - so this may have put you at risk.  I certainly wouldn't define this scenario as HIGH RISK, but still - better to be safe than sorry.

What I would suggest to you that you book yourself in for a HIV test at the 3 month mark just to be sure.

If the condom did indeed fail in any way there is a chance (albeit small) that you have put yourself at risk.  I wouldn't be overly concerned - these mistakes happen - just ensure that you are using appropriate lubrication and that your partner is applying the condom correctly before intercourse.

You can gain a conclusive result at the 3 month mark.

Best wishes
