OraQuick Advance - possibility of false negative
I had the OraQuick Advance HIV swab test done and it came back negative. I should be relieved, but I worry that my mouth was very dry that day and it possibly did not get enough good fluid. It does not feel that very much fluid went on the swab. Is the test sensitive enough with a very small amount and would the test indicate if inadequate sample was given? Thank you for any information you can give on this. I want to stop worrying completely, but that has been in the back of my mind.
You would have received an intermediate or it wouldn't register at all there would not be a control line.
Teak- thanks for the response...so if the swab did not get adequate cells on it then I'm hoping the test would indicate this and not give me a false negative???
