Thrush is not HIV specific. See your doctor if you are concerned about having trush.
I am on steroid inhalers for a mild form of copd, i am 64 years of age, and i have 33%, my pulimonary specialist is very pleased with me, but said that is one of the side effects of steroids, i do gargle most times. Lately, i have been having throat thrush, first a doctor treated with antibiotics, and as it wasnt getting any better my own doctor gave me nystactin oral suspension and even said i should have a std test, i am awaiting the result. My boyfriend is adamant he hasnt been cheating on me, and i believe him. so what do i do. these steroids are causing me havoc, plus i am a mouth breather.
Thank you so much for relieving my worries. I just gotta hang in there
I'm new to this forum and certainly no expert as I have enourmous fears of my own, but I've been reading up on acute HIV symptoms, and yours don't seem to match up. Your fever doesn't seem to be high enough for accute infection sans other symptoms, and any steriod can cause thrush. Red in the face is probably just that you're having trouble breathing....I had loose bowel movements several recent times BEFORE my high risk exposure, so you certainly can't rely on that symptom. I think you're probably fine, but as I'm sure everyone on this forum would say...test. At 4 weeks for your sanity and again at 3 months for certainty.
God bless you and good luck.
