Oraquick test

I had a possible HIV exposure 5 months ago (unprotected anal sex I was the insertive partner). I took two Oraquick home tests today, both came back negative. Am I in the free and clear or should I get additional bloodwork done?

thanks!

Yes you are. If you noticed on the stick the T line is below the C. Any antibodies would have to pass through the T section of the stick.
The oral mucousal fluid is rich with antibodies if you were infected.
But you're obviously not.

For what it's worth....next time wear a condom.

I didn't eat or drink for over an hour before hand, swiped the entire gum once on each side, inserted stick and waited 22 minutes for the results, the line next to the "C" was was clear and there was no other line on both tests.

I believe it was done properly, so I am HIV free :D

Thanks.

If you followed the instructions then you do not HIV. 12 weeks post exposure is when that particular test is conclusive.
