in all honesty, i am not sure if i understand :-(
Is there something about "HIV does NOT spread or maintain infectioness out its host" that you don't understand?
Ok, I think I understand.
However, and I am sorry for being repetitive, if there is damage to the anal mucus membrane and some sperm leaks into the anus, then there is a possibility of contracting HIV? I am not sure if he damaged the membrane with his fingers and whether some sperm leaked in, but I am just 'exploring' the options.
Also, if someone ejaculates on a skin rash, can you contract HIV that way?
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR PUTTING UP WITH ME!
Doesn't matter, HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions, therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host. So to have a risk you have to have unprotected penetrative anal sex with a penis.
Well, not an exposure per se. BUT, I do not know enough about the sexual history of the bisexual man I was with, except that he likes bareback sex and he used to visit sex clubs, which raises certain doubts about his HIV status. Moreover, I am not sure whether some of the sperm leaked into my anus, which was stimulated by his fingers previously leading to potential mucus membrane damage.
Am I just being too paranoid?
I am going in for a test tomorrow morning [HIV 1/2 At Ab], and I will receive the results by early afternoon. I was told the results at 28 days from exposure are 99% reliable.
You never had an exposure.
