Please ***** my HIV risk and help me deal with this situation

i have a few questions about an hiv risk. I recently had unprotected vaginal intercourse with a friend (I am a MALE) (sept. 12, 2015). A few days later i started to get a tingling sensation in my penis and it ended turning into a burning sensation. At 16 days past exposure (sept. 28)  i recieved a Hiv AG/AB, 4th gen test and was given azithromycin ( 4tablets =1000G) for a possible chlamydia infection. Approximately 3 days later (oct 1) (19 days past exposure) i was called and told i tested positive for chlamydia but negative for everything else. The next day (oct 2nd) i experienced cold sweats during the day and a fever going up to 99.3 at night. This continued for about a week followed by extreme fatigue on (Oct 10-11th) i am a hypercondriac so during this time i was under extreme stress and my anxiety was through the roof. I have continued to experience anxiety and depression for the next couple of weeks, i stopped eating and obsessively checked my temperature and looked up ars symptoms online. I never had any rash or sore throat, but experienced many other ars symtpoms over the next few weeks(joint pain, fatigue ect.) At around the 4 week mark (33 days post exposure) (oct 15th) i took a unigold rapid test at planned parenthood and got a negative result. I told my friend about finding out i had chlamydia and she then got a unigold rapid test which she says was 3 months after her previous sexual encounter and it came up negative. I am just wondering what my risk was and how worried i should be. I have been to 2 different doctors and both of them have told me not to worry and just take a test at 3 months to ease my mind. But i am beside myself and in need of more opinions. I want to know if either of these tests can bring any sort of relief to the way i am feeling and if any of my symptoms are consistent with ars? And i know that nothing is conclusive until 3 months i would just like some insight into my situation.

From the experts, a 4th generation test is conclusive.  See this link from HIV expert Dr  Handsfield:   https://www.healthtap.com/user_questions/6759022
Sorry, meant to say it's conclusive at 4 weeks post exposure.

I'm also still having headaches and feeling somewhat fatigued is it possible for ars to last this long? Or do you think it could be due to my anxiety. Thanks again for the response.

My anxiety and nerves aren't doing me very well, I'm having a lot of trouble sleeping so I think I might go and get a 4th gen test done next week like you recommend. And just a quick question would you consider 99.4 a fever? I'm just so worried I'm trying to build my confidence up any way that I can, especially since this 4th gen test would be basically conclusive the thought just scares the hell out of me. Any other words of encouragement would be much appreciated.

Ok but chlamydia is much more common and easily past than hiv , as I said before ars symptoms are non specific n never used to determine infection yes fever is a common part of it but it's also a common part of any other more likely infection, other syptoms you suggest could very well be anxiety you will be looking for everything at the moment , your two negitive tests are obviously very encouraging but not conclusive that will be the case at 3 mnths , it's a pity your 4 mnth test wasn't a lab based duo like your first because at 4 weeks that would be 99%+ reliable, you are low risk for hiv you had one exposure with a girl who has tested negitive as I said even vaginal sex with a someone who we know is positive is still 1 in 2000 , if the stress is really bad maybe concider a 4th Gen lab based duo ,  not a rapid , that would be very very reassuring but really I'd say you are ok to wait to free months , I'm confident your negitive Let me know how things go

If she lied and her last encounter wasnt over 3 months ( i mean she gave me chlaymida so just not too sure) then would you still say my symptoms dont look like ars? And what do you make of my two negative tests, do you think something would have been detected?

If your partner had a test 3 mbths after her last exposure and it was negitive then thats conclusive , so you cant catch hiv from someone who doesnt have it !  Ars syptoms are really non specific n never used to diagnose , your fever could have come from any garden veriety flu or cold n the rest is probably your anxiety , the transmission rate is like 1 in 2000 for one episode of insertive vaginal sex plus you have had good news on your tests id say your cool mate , take a 3 mnth for your own peace of mind but im sure it will be neg

Symptoms are not related to HIV. I would listen to what your Dr's have told you.

can you just answer one more question, can opportunist infections such as ulcer colitis come on during ars? Or is it more often something that occurs later on down the road? Thanks again!
