Please give some advice

Hi Everyone

Perhaps you can help me assess my concerns (and help me relax). Five weeks ago I had an encounter with two commercial sex workers. We used condoms for both oral and vaginal sex and they changed condoms between each lady. I don't believe there was any tear in the condom (they were so fast changing them I did not get a chance to inspect the condoms, but they did not seem to be broken).

I have been paranoid ever since. I had a rather acute incidence of prostatitis one week later. I went to the doctor and he tested me for gonorrhea, chlamydia, and one other one I. I also went on the standard prostatitis regimen of leviquin, flomax and an NSAID. I tested negative for the other STDs. I went for an HIV test 25 days after exposure (labcorp ICMA antibody test and it was negative).

I am now concerned that I have developed a fever and some swollen lymph nodes in the neck (probably from me touching them). Do I have a valid concern? I will test again at 3 months, but is there any value in testing at 5 or 6 weeks?

Thanks for your input and help.

No value in the negative test at 25 days?

So I should stop considering what-ifs, calculating odds, and in general worrying about it and put it past me. Right?

You never had an exposure and didn't need testing.

I'm going through the same fear, would you like to chat? I have MSN and Skype. It might help to talk to someone going through the same thing as you.
