You didn't have a risk. Yes we mind if you continue to ask the same questions over and over again. Read the posting guidelines at the top of the forum.
If the person that used the lancet before me definately had hiv
would the answer you gave me be the same?
The kind of lancet that I used ..can be reused..
Hope you don't mind me asking..
Ok can i just ask one more thing please..
If the actual lancet was of no concern
What about the fact that I washed the inside of pen
and if some of the water mixed with blood inside
and leaked onto the new needle..
Is this still no risk>?
Could I have made it worse by rinsing it in water?
See your doctor if you have a concern, you did not a risk of contracting HIV.
Please dont ban me...
Im really worried and i dont know who to talk to about this.
I am willing to pay or donate
I dont know how you ask a question in the Dr section.
Just one more thing please!
You say I didnt have a risk
well today i have discovered a swollen gland in my neck near the jugular
and some in my ankles..
Does this sound like anything to worry about>??
I would be really grateful if someone could answer me..
If I need to post in another forum..
Pleaseee

I hope you dont get mad with me
but if you had pierced with lancet
from someone who had hiv at work,
would you or any of your colleagues suggest you have a test?
Thank you for your help

You used a CLEAN lancet, first of all....and second of all...with the minute surface area of a lancet, and the fact that it is solid, not hollow bore...you could stick yourself probably an infinite amount of times with a soiled lancet without a concern.
You are WAYover thinking this. I think you need some OCD related help.
Ok sorry for bothering you.
I will go to the Dr forum
as he seems to think there is a small risk..
Thanks anyway

what are you talking about? you did NOT reuse a lancet ! ! !
take it to the anxiety or ocd forum...you do NOT have a hiv concern.
I have just been reading some
similar situations to mine in the Dr forum
regarding reusing lancets.
Dr Parks thinks that a puncture from
a reused lancet is a cause for concern.
He thinks the risk is a little less than a hollow bore needle.
Im sorry to go on about it
but im just worried..and confused!
YOU'VE BEEN TOLD THAT YOU HAD NO RISK...BUT THEN TURN AROUND AND ASK IF IT SOUNDS LIKE ARS??
MOVE ON
Do you think the the symptoms that im describing
sound like ars?
My symptoms:
Day1 Nausea and tiny vesicle type spots on ear
Day 2 Had to go the dentist in terrible pain..He gave me antibiotic for infection in tooth.
Day 3 Had to call Dr as in the middle of night got up with numb leg and felt dizzy
I have had nausea now for three weeks and it wont go away...
Also for the past few days my stomach has
been really sore and my stomach is gurgling all the time..
Ive had this for three weeks now...
It all started with the nausea then the abscess
Thanks again
that would be because hiv is not transmitted through environmental surfaces...hiv cannot survive outside it's host.
see your doctor if you are having health problems...it's not hiv related.
Thank you for quick reply!
Yes it was a new needle
The reason I was worried is that I soaked the
pen nib and the inside of glucose pen with water..
So I was thinking any diluted blood that may of been in pen
could of dribbled down the needle.
Or that the glucose pen nib could of still had blood on it.

Thank you for writing back to me
that was very quick! I really appreciate it.
Would that be because there is not enough blood?
Also the symptoms I had at four weeks
Do you think it due to something else?

not sure i'm understanding this.
you state that you put a new lancet on...so does that mean that you did not reuse THE lancet that was already on there????
either way...this does not pose a risk for hiv.
No risk a lancet is not a hollowcore needle.
