Possible HIV symptom?

Hi,
at least two of my friends believe that indicator of HIV infection is that after infection, healing time of cuts increases. Not sure whether this means longer bleeding or just a longer time for the cut to go away (when other factors remain constant).
This is not the first time I've heard this, it seems to be a popular belief, yet I can't find anything about it on the internet...
Can anyone tell me the truth behind this?

HIV does not affect your healing time. Geesh...Does not affect your clotting time.

mechanism of healing wound in is shot due to platelet aggregation and various other factors..and in hiv patinets.. healing of cuts ofcourse takes time than normal people...but not small cuts.. i mean it takes longer time to get perfect after surgery or to recover the inflammation..  and for small cuts u cannot measure the time..to see the watch when the blood clots..even how nourished are you and your food habit also effects in blood clot.. what hiv virus does is ..weakens the immune system.. attacking the cd4 cell..
i.e u ought to have low immune in case to have slow healing...which occurs in usually late stage AIDS ..

Ask your friends to get their "research paper" published in some medical journal. It is a wonderful discovery in medical science,,,,,,,,,,,,, If you or anyone feels he is at risk due to any valid reason, don't spend time on symptoms because they are misleading and confusing.

The best and the accurate way of knowing your status is the antibody test done after specified period,,,,,, PERIOD
