Possible infection

Hello:

Could anybody please help me? I have been going through the worse days of my life after I had unprotected vaginal sex with a woman I met on the internet.  Here's my story:  I met her two years ago and we had our first sex encounter six month later.  A year passed and then we met again and had unprotected sex again.  I found out she had been sleeping with someone else (although se denies it).  After I discover that, i started panicking.  Three weeks after our sexual encounter, I developed a unilateral swollen parotid gland and a terrible sore throat that laster 4 days.  Could these be symptoms of HIV infection?   I took an oraquick antibody test on the 4th week and it came out negative.  The swollen parotid gland has decreased a little bit in size after taking some antibiotic.  I haven't had fever but I feel like my esophagus is burning.  She swears she hasn't slept with someone but i can't believe.  I also have been feeling very weak. Could weakness be cause by antibiotics and stress?  Please, I need answers!

Stress can cause A LOT of things, including being tired.  What you need to remember is that the symptoms of HIV are VERY common to the symptoms associated with a million other things, many of which are nothing serious.  I've been in your shoes and will tell you from experience that your best bet is to get tested at 3 months.  I tested at just over three months and again at after six months just for my ease of mind.  What you are going through is very common and the only way to put it away for good is to test and no longer worry.  Your first test is a very good sign and should really help settle your nerves, but take one at three months and when that comes back negative you'll know your fine.

yes weakness can be caused by stress..dont worry the only way to find out for sure is to teat at the correct time which is 3 months..however, a negative test at 6-8 weeks is said to be very encouraging
