PrEP and HSV2

Hello, I probably have HSV 1/2 and am currently on PrEP, or Truvada (HIV-prevention drug). Are my chances of acquiring HIV still doubled (I think the reason is the cells HIV loves to infect are closer to the surface of the skin due to HSV), or are they same as if I weren't immunocompromised? Would taking antivirals in tandem do anything?

You're not immunocompromised.

The answer is YES, you would be at higher risk if you have HSV-2, exactly how much more of a risk is impossible to say, it would vary greatly from situation to situation.

The easy answer is, simply don't expose yourself, then you won't have to worry about it.

For starters, you've already posted the exact same question:

Have you been diagnosed with HSV?

The answer to your question is much simpler than the questions you're asking.  Condoms work.  Use them.  Especially if you have (or most likely have) HSV....you should be using condoms consistently with each partner AND informing them ahead of time of your diagnosis so they can make an informed decision on whether they want to continue on with a sexual relationship with you.
