Pre-Pep and HIV Testing

Hi All

If one is on prep.  how do you test for hiv. what is the window period if normal pep delays the window period.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

I will assume you know the most important aspect of beginning PrEP treatment is that you are definitely HIV-

When you are using PrEP, you are advised to get tested for HIV every three months to make sure this HIV prevention strategy is working for you.

I hope this is the answer you will looking for. (If not, I would advise speaking with an HIV counselor)

cool. but my questions was on Pre - Exposure testing and not Post - Exposure

The recommendations for post-PEP HIV testing are six weeks, three months and six months from the date of exposure.

Some guidelines say the 6th month test is not necessary but you'd sure as hell find ME having it done.
