I am a woman who had unprotected oral sex with a male on 6/23 and 7/06. Prior to the first incounter, I had cut my gums and had a wound. After the sex, I had an abscess pop up on my gum line. I popped it a couple times, but it kept coming back. Around 7/18, I got a sore throat and just an ill feeling. I had some night sweats (that may have been due to alcohol) but never a fever. Saw my doctor 7/23 and started Doxcycline just in case something was up. I then had the abscessed tooth removed 7/31. I had a couple days of a very low-grade fever, and one night of a horrible night sweat, and that was it. My question: Is there a possiblity that the HIV infection was held up in the abscess and not released until it was pulled and all the blood came gushing out. I still don't feel 100% and the anxiety is killing me. I took a HIV-1 DNA PCR test on 7/26 and came back negative, and a four week oral swap at a clinic. They said that the PCR is conclusive, but I wonder if it didn't enter my bloodstream until the tooth was pulled. Please Help!!!! This site has truly been a blessing to me. God Bless all!
