RISK WITH SYRINGE/NEEDLE WHILE DRAWING BLOOD

Hi, I'm from India where the reuse of needles are high, I had gone to a hospital last week for blood check up routine one for sugar and cholestrol.I did not see  the lady taking a new syringe /needle.I am living in a area where lots of infected people are residing,what is my risk in this case ?

I understand your worries, and you know the situation in your area better. However having said that, I still believe that hospitals will never involve in syringe reuse because if revealed, it will hit their credibility very badly. Like India, syringe reuse is also common in Pakistan, but at streeet side clinics run by quacks , not in the hospitals.

Thank you very much,the doubts are self created ,but i read in the net that some 8pct get infected through this route,which is phenomenally high and i am from  an area where loads of truck drivers are there who carry the same,

Hospital do not use resued or recycled syringes, trust your medical services. However to kill your self created doubts, next time insist on Vacuter tubes, involving no disposable syringe.
