Really Scared :(

I had an HIV test 5 years ago when I became pregnant with my first child. I had been in a bad marriage which I though was monogamous but found out wasn't. By the time I found out there was at least 4 that I could confirm for sure, likely there had been more. I left my ex-husband and started dating another man and became pregnant shortly after. When I went in for my first pregnancy appointment I told my doctor my concerns about my ex-husband and possibly being exposed to STD's due to his cheating. So the doctor tested me for STD's, HIV and Hepatitis. At that point it had been a little over 8 weeks since being with my ex-husband. All were negative though, thankfully.

Fast forward 5 years and I haven't had the best health, well I never really have and it just got worse after having my baby. So I started to get scared and wonder about HIV again ( I don't know why, maybe its due to my bad anxiety??). But I thought I was being irrational because my test was negative until I asked on here and was told my test was not conclusive because its not conclusive until 12 weeks (I was at 8 weeks at my test).

So I just had another test done yesterday and now I have to wait for the results. I am scared to DEATH and I cant stop thinking about it and I just want to cry. Im so afraid it will be positive and I can't think of anything scarier because if it is that would mean my child would have it since I nursed.

I feel angry because my doctor never told me that I should have another test, he told me it was negative end of story and to stop worrying. If I had known my 8 week test was not conclusive I was have DEFINITELY had another.

I'm just wondering how likely is it that my second test will come back positive??
I know no one can tell me for sure but waiting for this is so hard and I could use a little reassurance or support.

In an adult, a positive HIV antibody test result means that the person is infected, a person with a negative or inconclusive result may be in the “window for 4 to 6 weeks but occasionally up to 3 months after HIV exposure. Persons at high risk who initially test negative should be retested 3 months after exposure to confirm results

No one can tell you, they can say your chances are good and an 8 week test is an idea of what your conclusive test result will be but no one can say for a fact.

I also have to add I do not know my ex-husband HIV status, we dont talk anymore and I have no idea how to get in touch with him nor would I want to. My current husband (the father of my child) is HIV Negative. He has yearly tests due to being in the Military and just received results for his last one which was 6 months ago, it was also negative. We have been together for 5 years. Not sure if that makes any difference.
