Hi Everyone,
I'm new to the forum and want to do some HIV testing for a low-risk (or maybe no-risk) work incident and a sexual exposure, but I have a question about testing. I noticed that the consensus seems to be "3 months is conclusive," but what type of test is this? Is this ELISA or PCR or some other kind of antibody test? I'm just a bit confused. Also, my doctor says to wait six months for an antibody test, could this be because the type of test he uses isn't up to date, or is somehow different? If anyone can help clear up these confusions, that would be great.
