Recurrent fevers... now 104 degrees

Mid December I had unprotected sex with a friend. On Jan 21 I had a fever of 101.8 for 36 hours. General weakness and lethargy accompanied it. About a month later I had the same thing happen. Only for 36 hours then I felt fine. A week ago, I experienced another fever of 100.5 that came and went.

2 nights ago, I began feeling warm, I went into the doctor and my fever was at 104. I had horrible headache and muscle pain and diarrhea. I took blood tests and he gave me meds and sent me on my way. Does this sound like ARS or HIV infection symptoms?

Respectfully I'm not going to answer because going through the window period myself I was constantly examining myself. Testing determines status not symptoms. Symptoms at best can only raise a suspicion and that's classic symptoms at the right time. I was hoping to help calm your anxiety by saying there is a percentage value of actual ARS based on more common symptoms and how many. Also the Drs who used to post here said the number of people who exhibite symptoms almost always do not have hiv. Are you still waiting for your results?

Generally ARS does not come and go.
If someone does experience ARS they'll come about the same time and leave about the same time, not reoccur.
What kind of unprotected sex are you talking about?
Is part of the blood draw the dr took for HIV?
If not and your unprotected sex involves vaginal or anal penetration, you should test now for a conclusive result.

I was the insertive partner in anal sex. HIV was part of the blood test.
and do you have the test results? Normally ARS is only occuring between 2 to 6 weeks after encounter. It not comes and goes, so this doesn't sound like ARS! If your last risk encounter was in January a 4th gen test would be conclusive by now!
Even an antibody only test will be conclusive as well, he's 5 months from his risk.
I'd like to add that one symptom has a lower rate of actually being ars, as compared to more common 3 symptoms.
As Chima7 said, testing, not symptoms determines your status. Hope these replies helps relax some as you await your results.
thanks guys, what do you mean by the common 3 symptoms?

What was your risk? Symptoms are not used to diagnose HIV.
