Risk for HIV

I had unprotected sex with a man who is married, and he says he has only had sex with his wife and me.  I'm not sure I believe him.  We had unprotected sex from March 09 to June 09, but he pulled out before ejaculation until May 09.  I had an HIV test on May 25th and then again on july 6th, which was approximately 7 weeks after possible exposure and they were both negative. I have another one scheduled for August 09, which will be about 3 months after exposure.  I had flu symptoms about 6 - 7 weeks after exposure, fever, headache, nauseau, fatigue.  That went away after 2 weeks and then this week I developed a rash (hard to see) on my face, which is now 9 weeks past possible exposure.  I have taken Diflucan for a yeast infection for the past 2 weeks and a rash is listed as a side effect, but I'm still worried. What is my risk of having HIV?

ARS symptoms if one has them or not come on 2-4 weeks post exposure and last 1-2 weeks.

What does an HIV rash look like and can it be anywhere on the body? How long will it last and does the rash go away with something like Benadryl or Claritan?

"How common is HIV compared to other STD's?"

Pretty uncommon in heterosexual men (1 in 1000)

"What is the accuracy of testing 3 months out?"

Your seven week negative result was a very good indication of your status (close to 99% accurate); at 3 months, the result will be 100% accurate.

Well all unprotected sex carries a risk of HIV infection and other more common STI's. You should never rely on someone telling that they are negative. The onyl way to knwo for sure is to test.

Symptoms are never an indicator for HIV infection. and in anycase they are not indicative for HIV infection

Please remember to use condoms each and every time you have sex. HIV is a one way ticket and not something that you want to take chances with.
