Safe Sex

I'm a gay guy and I had sex with somebody on December 26, 2009.  I met him at a club and he went home with me. We had sex and we did use a condom.  However I'm worried because the condom was latex and the only lubrication we used was some cold cream.  I did read that latex condom can break down with cold cream.  Moreover, he came inside me and it seemed like all the sperm remained in the condom though.  What were the chances that maybe something could have gone wrong? So, now I have to wait three months to take the HIV test and then I guess take another one after 3 months again.
If I did get infected by any chance, are there any immediate symptoms?
