Scared after Unprotected oral sex

Hi Doc, I'm a 22 year old male and my life hasn't been the same since i had an unprotected oral sex encounter with a high risk female 6 weeks ago. We had protected vaginal sex though she insisted on having sex without a condom of which i refused. Don't know what i was thinking but i ended performing cunnilingus on her for about 3 minutes. I am so freaked out because the very next day i had 1 swollen tonsil for 1 week, irritable bowel + no apetite for another 2 weeks, felt fine for a week, then in week 5 have developed swollen nodes in my neck and groin, haven't had any flu symptoms, headaches just a slight fever. I took rapid 5 minute test at exactly 35 days and it was negative, but I am so worried about the swollen nodes and a contant cough so i don't trust the early test result. could i be HIV+? this is depressing me and i havent slept well for a week please help...

Me again..sorry to bother with this again but now just over six weeks past my exposure the lymph nodes in my neck and groin seem to have gotten bigger, the ones in neck are about 1 inch on each side, the ones (4) in my groin about 1/3 inch all painless!. i have no sign of other symptoms like fever, night sweats, flu or headache, could this possibly be ARS?...apart from that also have fatigue and persistent dry cough..what do you think?

There is no debate (among experts) about the HIV risks associated with oral sex. The risk is so low that almost nobody who cares for HIV infected patients has ever had a patient believed to have been infected that way. Among experts, it's a semantic issue about using terms like "no risk" and "very low risk". There is no difference between my or Dr. Hook's use of "low risk" and other experts' "no risk".
DR. HANSFIELD

"And oral sex is basically safe sex -- completely safe with respect to HIV and although not zero risk for other STDs, the chance of infection is far lower than for unprotected vaginal or anal sex. Please educate yourself about the real risks. If you stick with oral sex and condom-protected vaginal or anal sex, you have no HIV worries and very little worry about other STDs. " DR HANSFIELD

"I am sure you can find lots of people who believe that HIV is transmitted by oral sex, but you will not find scientific data to support this unrealistic concern..." DR HOOK

"HIV is not spread by touching, masturbation, oral sex or condom protected sex."- DR. HOOK

in the public HIV Prevention forum of MedHelp, TEAK and the other moderators maintain that oral sex in all forms is a zero risk activity. Would you agree with this assessment?
I TOTALLY AGREE / DR GARCIA
"HIV is not spread by masturbation, through oral sex, through kissing or other casual contact." Dr. Hook
"The observation on thousands and thousands of observations is that HIV is not spread by oral sex (of any sort)." DR HOOK
"I would not say your risk ,if he had HIV is "slim to none"- that's too high.  I would say they are effectively zero.  How much of his ejaculate or other genital  secretions you may have swallowed makes no difference.  EWH "
"As far as HIV is concerned, there is no known risk of getting HIV from performing oral sex on an infected partner, even if that person's genital secretions get into your eyes or if you swallow." Dr.Hook

Cut or no cut. You're safe. If the test will give you closure then let it be.
You're welcome.

hi there.

You were never at risk for HIV and did not require testing for the exposure you have mentioned.
