You can't go by symptoms. If you are ill see a doctor.
If my symptoms last only for a week or 2 after a low risk encounter, I'd probably not worry too much and disregard this as a flu or something common. But yeh low risk is a low risk, that is unless we are very very unlucky, but I think you are probably fine too. I never have these on and off/lingering symptoms for that long before though and I am not a sexually active person either, so I know my chance does not look that good afterall.
huh? I've read his posts and his situation is similar to mine. Only the cut though.
Then disregard your symptoms be related to HIV. People that have symptoms related to ARS come on during the serocoverion time and last from 1-2 weeks.
Kimoz, what was your exposure?
Are you the same person as What Now? Your exposure was protected sex with your hiv + girlfriend, right?
It could just be a flu or something.
Most of my symtoms has persist for nearly 2 months already, some of them are on and off, and this scares me even more.
My exposure is considered low risk. Frottage(genitals rubbing) and body massage/rubbing/licking etc. But I have pimples everywhere on my back, they sometimes bleed easily, so there was what they called a 'therotical risk'. Most people said I should not be worry, but I can't explain most of my symptoms otherwise which still persist today(swollen lymph nodes, white tongue, feeling hot and perhaps low grade fever, lump in throat, body ache, fatigue etc). I can only think of hiv as the reason behind all these, as these do not really sound like symptoms of any other common disease I have heard of.
I wish I could disregard them. But I've heard symptoms like swollen lymph nodes, white tongue, fatigue etc usually last longer.
Ohhhhhh Kimoz. What you had me going through this entire day!! Lol. You had a very low risk. Genital rubbing is near 0% and the others are negligible. For a minute you had me thinking we started some sort of new symptom.
Even though I should take this advise myself, I'm going to give it to you even though you've heard it a million times. Ease your mind! HIV is hard to contract in your situation, it's a very fragile virus. Those "symptoms" can be due to a million other things. We've all been through it/going through it.
Wish I could take my own advise!
Cheers! You'll be fine, keep us updated.
What was your risk? No one can be of any help if they don't know what your risk was.
hello there. can you give us some more info. concerning the risk and your symptoms although they are notoriously inaccurate in diagnosing or disregarding hiv. let me tell you this too. you are not alone. we'r on the same boat. I'm scared beyond belief too.
