Set up and anally raped by person i believe to have hiv, now hiv symptoms

was set up and raped by a person who i believe has aids. 2 weeks after the incident i started to get sick. It started out with join pain in my hips that lasted a couple of days. then i got a flu like illness to go along with it which consisted of chest heavyness, sore throat, headach, swollen lymph nodes, loss of apetite, shortness of breath and elevated breathing and heart rate. When i felt like a had a flu it lasted for only 1-2 days but everytime i went outside i would get a sore throat again and this lasted for about a week. I then got another cold after the other one went away where i had just post nasal drip and sore throat. I have also had my stomach growling all the time and joint pain that still persists and my stool is grey and clay like.

Testing? I had a blood antibody test done at 28 days that came back negative.
I also had a orasure rapid antibody test done at 29 days that came back negative and i also had a PCR RNA test done with a lab that came back negative taken on day 27. I just recently had another antibody test done because i keep having symptoms, this test was done at 6 weeks and came back negative.

My symptoms are not from anxiety as i have kind of accepted that i have hiv and i'm moving on now. I'm just trying to have the test come up positive so i can start treatment but it wont and it is getting really annoying.

Is there anyway these symptoms in my circumstance be something different?

i think you now can calm a bit with all test you have done...in my opinion your symptom is just because you are very anxiety of HIV....nothing to do with your symptom...I am sure you will be fine....

Hi, maybe my story can help you a bit. I had unprotected sex like 9 months ago. Two weeks afther that I began to develop symptoms. Enarged lymph nodes, neurophaties, some rash, herpes-like infection in the tongue, hand shaking, lack of sensation in two fingers, profuse night sweats. Not all of them at the same time, only neurophaties, but the rest of symptoms were one afther the other, for about 6 months.

I was desesperate. I cryed all day and night. I couldn't sleep. However all my tests have come negative. 12 ELISA 3rd generation, 2 ELISA 4th generation, two quantitative RNA PCR, one qualitative DNA PCR, one Western-Blot, a p24 antigen, and one HCV test.

For my mind I still think that maybe I had a very very rare HIV strain, and that I didn't developed antibodies. But I know that those thoughts are NOT TRUE.

You may be in the same situation that I'm. Having a lot of symptoms, but negative test.

Well my friend, it is very likely that you are going to be negative also.

Ask for a 4th generation test. It is conclusive at 3 months, but, if negative now, then, you can feel that it most likely will be negative at three months.

Hope this helps

Jose

PD. You have to know that PCR tests have a high rate of false positives.

Your 6 week test is VERY unlikely to change at 3 months, but test at 3 months for your conclusive result. Symptoms mean nothing.

I am sure you will be fine. Test as advised

Hope this helps
